HANDLING OUTBOUND INTERNATIONAL AND NON-CONTRACT SHIPMENTS

How must outbound international and domestic non-contract shipments be processed?
All outbound international and domestic non-contract shipments must be pre-processed through the Freight Forwarding Section. Exceptions to processing outbound international and domestic non-contract shipments are as follows:

  1. Collect shipments (containing non-hazardous materials only)
  2. USPS shipments via the NIH mail system
  3. Local BPA courier services
  4. The NIH messenger services
  5. FedEx Domestic shipments only (IC must have an active FedEx Account)

What happens if my outbound international and domestic non-contract shipments are not processed through the Freight Forwarding Section?
Outbound international and domestic non-contract shipments that are not processed through the Freight Forwarding Section are considered unauthorized shipments.
